Fresh cookies and a bouquet of decorated mountain pine branches await you in your room. Outside, snow covers the mountains, and the lake steams in the cold. On Christmas Eve, the evening begins at 4:30 p.m. in the lobby area, before the festive meal is served at 5:30 p.m.—at the Gasthof zur Weissach or the Kreuther Fondue Stubn; you decide when you book. Meanwhile, the children’s buffet is set up for the kids. One afternoon, a horse-drawn carriage will pick up the whole family: blankets over your knees, mulled wine and children’s punch in hand, heading out into a Tegernsee valley that grows quiet at this time of day.
