The Große Walsertal Biosphere Reserve is located in the Austrian province of Vorarlberg and extends in the middle of Vorarlberg in an easterly to north-easterly direction towards the mountainous center of the province. Europe's greenest hotel is in South Tyrol: on the trail of sustainability
In 2023, the climate-positive Naturhotel Leitlhof was awarded the title of "Europe's Leading Green Hotel" for the fourth time and can once again call itself an official "climate partner". The hotel also meets the criteria of the Global Sustainable Tourism Council. The commitment to nature and climate protection includes the energy supply with its own wood-fired combined heat and power plant, electric car charging stations and local suppliers.

South Tyrolean slow food in its most original form
The cuisine at Naturhotel Leitlhof is sustainable, regional and seasonal. The chefs use freshly picked herbs from their own garden to refine their dishes. The nearby farm "Mühlhof", which also belongs to the Mühlmann family, provides the hotel with many types of vegetables and potatoes from its own fields. These ingredients are used to cover all the kitchen requirements. The high-quality meat also comes directly from the farm - from the hotel's own Angus cattle farm.

Hiking in the UNESCO World Heritage Dolomites
As a member of "Wanderhotels - best alpine", the nature hotel is the ideal starting point for hikes, mountain and trekking tours. The trails into the world-famous Sesto Dolomites start right outside the door. The hotel's own hiking map with tips from local guides and two certified guides show Leitlhof guests the most beautiful routes off the beaten track several times a week. Tip: Hike to the Toblacher Pfannhorn at 2,663 meters.

Alpine spa between onsen pool and pine sauna
Since 2023, Leitlhof guests have been enjoying the 3,000 square meter wellness area in the South Tyrolean four-star superior hotel. The newly designed spa landscape attracts visitors with highlights such as the Japanese-style onsen pool, the black Finnish sauna and the fragrant Swiss stone pine sauna. The omnipresent panoramic view of the Dolomites makes the wellness experience even sweeter. As part of the numerous wellness treatments, the wellness professionals use products from the South Tyrolean cosmetics line Team Dr. Joseph. These are certified organic and 100 percent natural.

Insider tip for historically interested strollers
Just a ten-minute walk from the Naturhotel Leitlhof (and three minutes from the second hotel, Atto Suites & Cuisine), the historic center of San Candido surprises with its culture and long-established craft businesses. The collegiate church, Franciscan monastery and the famous DoloMythos Museum in the pedestrian zone take visitors on a journey through time between the World Heritage Site and the Middle Ages. Cozy felt slippers have been rolled at the Zacher hat maker's workshop for generations.

By bike and train through Val Pusteria/Pustertal
Val Pusteria/Pustertal in the north-east of South Tyrol is a paradise for two-wheeled enthusiasts thanks to its numerous attractive routes, some of which even cross borders. Guests of the Naturhotel Leitlhof can hire bikes and mountain bikes free of charge at the hotel, e-bikes for a fee. With the Mobilcard, buses and trains can be used free of charge throughout South Tyrol. Among the most beautiful routes are those to the Sesto mountain pastures and to Cortina d'Ampezzo - guided bike tours regularly take Leitlhof guests there.

An established hotel: the Riedlberg has been owned by the Graßl and Mühlbauer families since 1912 and has been carefully expanded from a small mountain inn to a 4-star superior wellness hotel, yet has remained manageable with 58 rooms and suites.
The secluded location in the middle of a large forest estate guarantees heavenly tranquillity and pure, clean air. The unspoiled landscape invites you to take long hikes in the pristine landscape of the Bavarian Forest as soon as you arrive. Since 2020, our guests have also been able to rent e-mountain bikes or an e-car for excursions directly on site.
Our feel-good dreamland covers 5000 square meters with indoor pool (31°) and whirlpool (36°), year-round infinity pool (31°), as well as year-round brine pool (36°). A spacious garden area with various retreats is available to every guest. The modern and comfortably furnished SPA landscape extends over two levels:
Sauna with light therapy, modern Swiss stone pine sauna, large Finnish panorama sauna, 2 steam baths, infrared cabin for 4 people, salt gallery and flower bath as well as 6 different relaxation areas offer every guest their personal favorite spot.
Choose from our wide range of massages and cosmetics with products from the brands BABOR, Gertraud Gruber, Kurland and PINO and enjoy our varied activity program with Nordic walking, Qi Gong, gymnastics and much more.
Our winter guests are in for a special treat: you can use the hotel's own ski lift and toboggan run right outside the front door free of charge when the snow conditions are right - ski school and ski rental are located right on the slope.

The new wellness area leaves nothing to be desired: Pure relaxation awaits you in the 31° C panoramic indoor pool, in the 36° C XXL sky whirlpool with relaxation loungers or in the equally new rooftop swimming pool (32° C), all with a view of the magnificent Bavarian Forest mountains. After long hikes, you can relax your feet in the foot spa and fortify yourself with healthy tea and fresh juices at the tea bar. Or you can enjoy the soothing warmth of the sauna area with Finnish sauna, aroma steam bath, brine and herbal bath.

In summer, enjoy the peace and quiet in the idyllic wellness garden with sunbathing islands. In the new exclusive beauty and massage area, you will be pampered by expertly trained beauticians with high-quality care products from Guinot and Klapp. Soothing massages and beauty treatments will make your inner and outer beauty shine!
