In addition to the breathtaking surroundings, the indoor area impresses above all with its professionalism and authenticity. The versatile spa and wellness landscape extends over a total of 4,000 m². The extensive pool landscape has a large indoor pool with integrated bubble loungers and massage jets as well as a splash shower. The panoramic whirlpool offers a fantastic view of the idyllic landscape from above. Depending on the weather, the outdoor pool can be used through the airlock. The sauna area has two outdoor log cabin saunas with a natural biotope, Finnish sauna, bio sauna, steam baths, Himalayan salt grotto, Kneipp pool and relaxation rooms. There is a separate ladies' sauna area with bio-sauna and loungers in the beauty pavilion. Anyone who takes a sauna, works out or swims laps naturally needs some well-earned relaxation afterwards. The Ayurveda center is integrated on a separate floor of the hotel and an Ayurveda doctor and specialists from Sri Lanka, the country of origin, carry out the holistic treatments. This means you can experience an Ayurveda cure with authentic treatments and experience the traditional philosophy of this millennia-old health teaching. We are in South Tyrol in the gentle region around the small and large Monticolo/Montiggler lakes, around 15 kilometers south of Bolzano/Bozen. While summer is celebrated at the neighboring Lake Kaltern, the two Monticolo lakes are considered insider tips for those seeking peace and quiet. At around 700 and 300 meters in length, they stand for crystal-clear water and pure idyll.

Welcome to the Gartenhotel Moser, which is located directly on the large Montiggl lake. The forest, water and garden are the defining elements of a successful vacation here. In April 2024, the garden hotel will come back to life after a comprehensive renovation. Sustainable construction methods and energy recovery, large window fronts that open up views of the surroundings and green wooden struts on the exterior façade allow the hotel to merge with nature. All public areas such as the lobby, restaurant and 18 suites have a completely new look with lots of wood, stone and warm, earthy colors. The highlight of the hotel is the new adults-only infinity pool with relaxation rooms and fitness studio on the roof.

Family-run business
The hotel has been owned by the Moser family for over 60 years. The lush gardens with winding paths, birdwatching station, hidden power spots and natural bathing pond, which invite you to relax all around, gave the hotel its name. With its location in the middle of a nature reserve, it is ideal for a short or longer break. While the neighboring Lake Kaltern is widely known as a vacation destination, the two Montiggl lakes are still real insider tips. "We are really looking forward to delighting guests again with the new Gartenhotel Moser and our unique location," says Wolfgang Moser. Together with his wife Christine, he has been running the business for around 40 years. While Wolfgang, as a visionary, is constantly driving forward new projects and offers, Christine, as hostess, enriches the hotel with her heart and passion. With her empathy for people and nature, she provides a calming influence for a feel-good atmosphere.

Welcome to Wellness
Time out with a view: The wellness highlight from 2024 is the adults-only infinity pool on the roof of the hotel. A wide range of spa and activity options with Ayurveda and yoga elements as well as a stylish sauna area complete the wellness concept.
"Sanum per aquam" - health through water is the title of the hotel's spa menu. In addition to classic massages and beauty treatments, the spa team also offers treatments in the floating lounger with algae, Himalayan salt or honey butter; special baths and a private spa suite provide moments of togetherness. Ayurvedic health treatments also enrich the spa menu: Abhyanga massages and forehead pours promote inner peace and invigoration of mind and body. Families are also very welcome at the Gartenhotel Moser. The hotel's outdoor area boasts another pool with a water slide and integrated children's pool as well as an indoor pool.

Relaxation in harmony with the elements
Thanks to its close connection with nature, the Gartenhotel Moser is a place of inspiration for mind and body. Hostess Christine Moser knows about the intensive effect of the surrounding power places and is intensively involved with local herbs and the associated medicine. She is happy to pass this knowledge on to her guests in workshops on detoxification, superfoods and medicinal plants. In addition, three yoga and meditation classes are held in the mornings five days a week. Each day of the week is dedicated to an element: on Mondays, for example, everything revolves around the theme of air with courses on correct breathing techniques. Fire, earth and water are further themes under which workshops on movement and relaxation are bundled. Cocoa ceremonies, sound baths and special meditation sessions also take place to accompany special phases of the moon. All offers take place in the Anima yoga room or in the garden or on the lakeshore. From 2024, an in-house fitness trainer will join the team and offer sunrise hikes, aqua fitness and sports classes.

Breaking new ground architecturally
For the redesign of the four-star superior garden hotel, the entire former entrance area gave way to a new, modern building. Visually, it matches the "Ramus" extension built in 2014 and forms an ensemble of several buildings. A linear structure divided into horizontal and vertical elements allows the two parts to merge into a harmonious whole. Authentic, warm and appreciative - this is how the hosts and their team treat their guests and the surrounding nature. The close interweaving with flora and fauna is reflected not only in the large garden, but also in the architecture and energy concept. Natural materials, earthy colors, green areas and a heat recovery system are evidence of a sustainable approach.
The reception and entrance hall shine in an elegant and contemporary style. All public spaces and the new rooms have been architecturally designed with fresh ideas. Functional yet elegant solutions in harmony with the forest and garden are reflected in the building structure as part of the renovation. The entire appearance of the outdoor area with green spaces, natural walkways and pond landscapes is visually adapted to the landscape.

Nature in the bedroom
Guests in the countryside: floor-to-ceiling windows were installed behind the braced façade design. The aim - to capture the surrounding panorama and bring it into the room. From the outside, beige and brown tones define the façade. A similar color scheme enriches the atmosphere in the rooms. There are also deep green tones and floral elements. All new room types have a luxurious bathing area and spacious terraces invite you to take a deep breath outdoors.

Sustainability in a nature reserve
Not only a harmonious ambience, but also a respectful approach to the environment is a major concern for the Moser family. The new building is therefore based on an ecological and sustainable construction method. When selecting the materials, Christine and Wolfang Moser paid particular attention to natural, local elements such as natural wood, stone cladding and clay plaster. In addition, the façades are clad with rhombus slats and vertical wooden elements, which serve as a trellis for plants and green the building. Due to the sensitive area in a nature reserve, bird protection glass was also used to minimize reflective surfaces. From a technological point of view, the hotel impresses with its sustainable construction and environmentally friendly energy measures. The energy supply for the entire building is recovered from the hotel's own waste water system. A special filter-exchanger system extracts the heat from the hotel waste water and uses a heat pump to bring it up to the required temperature level. Solar energy is also incorporated into the energy concept - there is a photovoltaic system in the area of the new flat roof.

Delicacies from their own farm
Farming has always been both a tradition and a passion for the Moser family. Apples, pears and grapes come from their own production. Delicious wines come from the Moser winery and beer from the family brewery, which is located directly in the wine cellar. In the three-quarter board light, which the Gartenhotel Moser offers as standard, local products play the leading role. This includes an extensive breakfast buffet and a "little light lunch" from the show kitchen with hot and cold dishes. Homemade cakes are served in the afternoon and a five-course menu in the evening. Themed specials such as barbecue evenings or fish starter buffets also surprise guests. Once a week, when the dessert buffet is served, those with a sweet tooth get their money's worth.

Active and moving
The wonderful nature that surrounds the Gartenhotel Moser is best experienced actively. Accordingly, the hotel offers numerous opportunities for time out and adventure. The hotel's own lake house with sunbathing lawn on the large Montiggl lake is ideal for swimming, stand-up paddling or canoeing. Thanks to the mild climate, the region is ideal for cycling tours or hiking excursions even in spring. Families with children can enjoy the benefits of childcare up to seven days a week. Active guests also get their money's worth outside the hotel. The area is closely linked to the South Tyrolean Wine Road, which winds through the municipality of Eppan just six kilometers away. The popular Lake Kaltern, the warmest bathing lake in the Alps, is just two kilometers away as the crow flies. Many hiking trails, from gentle to challenging, criss-cross the area. The lake hike, which completely circles the large and small Monticolo/Montiggler lakes, is particularly popular. In addition to activities such as canoeing, stand-up paddling or cycling on a mountain bike or e-bike, golf enthusiasts can pursue their passion at the Eppan, Petersberg and Sarnonico golf clubs. Vespas or a speedy Fiat 500 convertible are also available for slightly longer excursions. Tennis fans can practice their serve right in the Montiggl village, while beach volleyball and soccer can be played on the hotel grounds.

In 2023, the climate-positive Naturhotel Leitlhof was awarded the title of "Europe's Leading Green Hotel" for the fourth time and can once again call itself an official "climate partner". The hotel also meets the criteria of the Global Sustainable Tourism Council. The commitment to nature and climate protection includes the energy supply with its own wood-fired combined heat and power plant, electric car charging stations and local suppliers.

South Tyrolean slow food in its most original form
The cuisine at Naturhotel Leitlhof is sustainable, regional and seasonal. The chefs use freshly picked herbs from their own garden to refine their dishes. The nearby farm "Mühlhof", which also belongs to the Mühlmann family, provides the hotel with many types of vegetables and potatoes from its own fields. These ingredients are used to cover all the kitchen requirements. The high-quality meat also comes directly from the farm - from the hotel's own Angus cattle farm.

The trails into the world-famous Sesto Dolomites start right outside the door. Just a ten-minute walk from the Naturhotel Leitlhof (and three minutes from the second hotel, Atto Suites & Cuisine), the historic center of San Candido surprises with its culture and long-established craft businesses. The collegiate church, Franciscan monastery and the famous DoloMythos Museum in the pedestrian zone take visitors on a journey through time between the World Heritage Site and the Middle Ages. Cozy felt slippers have been rolled at the Zacher hat maker's workshop for generations.

By bike and train through Val Pusteria/Pustertal
Val Pusteria/Pustertal in the north-east of South Tyrol is a paradise for two-wheeled enthusiasts thanks to its numerous attractive routes, some of which even cross borders. Guests of the Naturhotel Leitlhof can hire bikes and mountain bikes free of charge at the hotel, e-bikes for a fee. With the Mobilcard, buses and trains can be used free of charge throughout South Tyrol.
