The Große Walsertal Biosphere Reserve is located in the Austrian province of Vorarlberg and extends in the middle of Vorarlberg in an easterly to north-easterly direction towards the mountainous center of the province. In 2000, the Große Walsertal was designated a model region by UNESCO as a "biosphere park" due to its particularly outstanding and diverse nature. The 5-star sports and pleasure hotel Silvretta in the heart of Ischgl has been run by the Zangerl family since it was established in 1930 and has retained its family atmosphere to this day.
