The Große Walsertal Biosphere Reserve is located in the Austrian province of Vorarlberg and extends in the middle of Vorarlberg in an easterly to north-easterly direction towards the mountainous center of the province. In 2000, the Große Walsertal was designated a model region by UNESCO as a "biosphere park" due to its particularly outstanding and diverse nature. The Spa am See is located between the two buildings that make up the Wellnesshotel Ritzenhof. The underground wellness oasis opens directly onto the shore of Lake Ritzensee with a private sunbathing lawn.
