For all their innovative spirit, the Gerstl family relies on tried and tested dishes: the hotel's regionally oriented cuisine, which sources its products from the surrounding area to support the farmers in the valley and protect the environment with short transportation routes, is already a tradition. Once a week on r30 Day, all ingredients even come from within a radius of no more than thirty kilometers - this is when the creativity of head chef Michael Ziernheld and his team is particularly in demand. It is clear how much everyone is behind this concept. When the first elderflowers can be harvested in early summer, for example, fresh blossoms from many of the employees' gardens are brought to the hotel for processing. Fruit, herbs and berries are also grown locally by the GERSTL Unique team. If you would like to take a look behind the scenes of the Gerstl's gourmet workshop, you can do so at the weekly kitchen party. The Große Walsertal Biosphere Reserve is located in the Austrian province of Vorarlberg and extends in the middle of Vorarlberg in an easterly to north-easterly direction towards the mountainous center of the province. The spacious property has 111 rooms and suites in an impressive Art Nouveau building ensemble. The Gästehaus Halenberg welcomes arrivals in the spacious foyer, whose eye-catcher is God Bacchus, carved out of stone and enthroned above a soothingly rippling fountain. Like the Gästehaus Halenberg, the SPA Frühlingsplätzchen is named after one of the premium vineyards on the Nahe. Covering an area of approx. 3,500m², the SPA is a wonderful place to relax in Finnish saunas, a bio sauna, steam baths, an indoor pool and whirlpool as well as five differently designed relaxation rooms. The wellness offer is complemented by outdoor attractions such as the Hubertus sauna, the 20-metre-long heated outdoor pool and the SPA garden by the river.
