Palo Santo "Holy Wood"
Palo Santo is a mystically overgrown deciduous tree with gnarled branches and many ramifications. In the flowering period it bears beautiful yellow flowers. The tree (Bursera graveolens) can be found in Central and South America such as Mexico, Peru and Colombia etc.
Palo Santo is one of the most popular incenses in South America. Traditionally, the spirit of this plant has been used there for thousands of years. The shamans trust in the very strong cleansing effect, which is why the "sacred wood" is used in many rituals and ceremonies. Palo Santo is said to banish negative energies and attract positive ones.
Palo Santo is considered a panacea. Hardly any incense has such a beneficial and positive effect on so many people's state of mind. Many people describe the effects as euphoric, calming and invigorating. At the same time, concentration is increased and creativity is encouraged. Fears are resolved and stress reduced.
Application: The classic variant of smoking the wood is made with approx. 10cm long, thumb-thick pieces of wood. Simply pick up a piece of wood and light one end. Let it burn for about 20 seconds and then carefully wave it out (do not blow) and put it in a fireproof bowl filled with sand. It is not comparable to an incense stick, as the wood runs out again and again after a short time.
