At the Leading Spa Award this year, awards were again given to the best spa hotels in Austria, Italy and Germany. After more than 43,000 ratings, 12 awards were given.
New for this year: There is one award per federal state instead of just one per country, as done in previous years.
Atmosphere, safety, comfort and features: The Leading Spa Award is one of the most important spa awards and is the internationally recognised symbol for top-class wellness. For the 11th time now, the Leading Spa Award is being given to the best spa concepts in Austria, Italy and Germany. Only spa hotels that consistently embrace the spa concept can become nominees. The special thing about this year's award is that it is not awarded on a per country basis, as before, but per federal state. By the end of September, over 43,000 guests and visitors had voted for their favourites on the Leading Spa website. Here are the 12 winning hotels:
Austria. No fewer than four Austrian spa hotels made it onto the Leading Spa Awards' winners list. At the awards ceremony, the Astoria Resort in Seefeld, the Cinderella Spa & Resort in Obertauern in Salzburg, the Panoramahotel Alpenstern in Vorarlberg and the Hotel Aviva in Upper Austria were chosen as "Leading Spa Resorts".
Italy. The two winning hotels in Italy show how rich in variety a spa can be. The Almar Jesolo Resort & Spa in the Veneto and the Hotel Gassenhof in the South Tyrol offer excellent spas. With these two concepts, two lifestyle favourites entered the race – one with a wonderful sea view, the other right in the mountains.
Germany. Lovers of luxurious relaxation sent six awards to Germany: in the south of the country Ortner’s Resort in Bavaria, Treschers in Baden-Württemberg and the Seezeitlodge Hotel & Spa in Saarland were honoured. The remaining three awards went to the Romantik- & Wellnesshotel Deimann in North Rhine-Westphalia, to the Romantischer Winkel in Lower Saxony and to Jordan’s Untermühle in Rheinland-Pfalz.
